The Origin of Orbital Velocity

Combining decades of musical experience, Orbital Velocity, was born of the musical pursuits of multi instrumentalist and vocalist, Andrew Earl, better known simply as, Drew. Patiently and for many years Drew sought out the right musicians with a specific mix and chemistry of backgrounds and ability to form what would become Orbital Velocity.

In 2022 Drew and singer-songwriter and auxiliary percussionist, Bill Thompson, met through a Craigslist ad and joined forces with their eclectic originals. They combined forces with another Craigslist recruit, keyboard extraordinaire, Matt Matthews, and Kansas City bass legend, Ed Spencer to create the core of Orbital Velocity. There was one missing piece to the full equation - another guitarist to share the rhythm and leads. But not just any guitarist. He had to be fluid, inventive, and a little crazy sometimes. Ed Spencer suggested his former Jah Wheel band mate, Cardy Quintero, and it was a done deal after day 1.

At that time the band was under the name, SIx Above, with a different drummer. Time constraints made it nearly impossible to rehearse together and the drummer was let go for more promising opportunities to consistently work together. Enter yet another Craigslist recruit, Tyler Clark, on drums.

With over 270 years of combined musical experience, this new addition, and renewed energy, the band changed their name to Orbital Velocity and set out to create a kick ass musical and visual experience filled with great songs crafted with care and left with room for improvisation and exploration of the great the unknown.

On day one they exploded on the scene with fire and tenacity to make an unforgettable experience for listeners, forging new life into decades old and all new original music combined with some of classic rocks notable covers.

Was an orbital blast! Super rad scene, with sick sounds, elevated jamming!
